ABOUT US

Baptist Collegiate Ministry at The University of Richmond is a mission of the Kairos Initiative, a young-adults venture of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

BCM at the University of Richmond is a campus ministry open to people of all backgrounds and traditions who hope to explore and grow in their understanding of faith in a genuine community. Our guiding mission is to be a welcoming place for all students as they seek to hear and live into God’s call to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God.

Our identity can be found in the phrase,

With God: “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved!”
Ephesians 2:4-5

The BCM is a student organization created by God’s grace! Now we get to serve WITH GOD and participate in how he is at work in our lives and in the lives of all nations, sharing his good news and transforming message.

Through Us: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

We are God’s redeemed creation, and he has gifted us with spiritual gifts and talents we can use to worship God and love others!

For All: “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31

The BCM welcomes all because we are all created in the image of God. No one is left out and everyone is invited!
